The Board of Directors provides the organizational infrastructure, support and guidance to help our management staff and members thrive.
We are always looking for talented individuals to support and guide the Oregon Crusaders organization. From our near and long-term strategy, to financial planning, to the governance needed for a successful arts organization, we are seeking people with the following characteristics to expand the breadth and depth of our board:
- Love the benefits that come from youth education in the performing arts
- Appreciate (if not absolutely live and breathe) the drum corps activity
- Appreciate the importance of strong financial management and fundraising
You would be required to attend monthly board calls (in person meetings occur 4x/year). You do NOT have to be in Portland, and we welcome participants of ALL ages, including corps age-outs.
And if you happen to have one of the following characteristics, then that’s an added bonus!
- Are a marketing professional/have marketing experience
- Are a financial/accounting professional
- Are a fundraising/development professional/have fundraising experience
- Have business development experience
Richard has also taught at many of the Oregon marching band programs since 1982, including Sprague, Sunset, Beaverton, Westview, Centennial, Clackamas, McKay, South Salem, and North Salem. Richard is currently on staff at North Salem High School.
Transitioning to more involvement in Oregon Crusaders was a natural progression. Lisa became Treasurer in 2013 and has been responsible for upgrading and maintaining financial accounting processes for the OC drum corps the and two winter groups.
Jeff is a health care professional, practicing as a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for 20 years with Willamette Dental Group. During his career he has been Head Oral Surgeon with W.D.G., Director of Oral Surgery and Dentistry at Providence St. Vincent Hospital, Dental Board Examiner, Past President of the Washington County Dental Society, Trustee with the Oregon Dental Association and has volunteered with Medical Teams International, both locally and abroad in Turkey and Iraq.
Mike is the Chairman of the Northwest Youth Music Association Board of Directors where he has served for more than eight years. He is a patron of the Cascades and of Northwest drum corps. Mike also serves on the Board of Directors for the non-profit, Music4Life, which serves school districts in the Seattle Metro area.
