For Immediate Release
Conn-Selmer is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2012 season. The Drum Corps will perform exclusively on all new King Ultimate and King System Blue marching brass instruments. The Oregon Crusaders hold a deep seated philosophy of Education through Performance in the areas of percussion, brass, dance, and visual ensemble artistry. As part of the partnership this excellence in brass performance will be heard exclusively on King System Blue and Ultimate Marching Brass instruments.
“We are very excited about this partnership” says Mike Quillen, Program Director for the Oregon Crusaders. “We are happy to be a part of the Conn-Selmer family.” Travis Moddisson, Brass Supervisor for the OC notes, “King has put together high quality and innovative brass instruments that we are excited to play. We found the instruments to perform extremely well in our testing environment and we look forward to using them this 2012 season.” Dr. Phil Marshall, Board President, also states, “Strategically, this is the perfect time to invest in our brass program. As one of the fastest growing and improving horn lines in the activity, the choice of King will help further our momentum at this critical time for our organization.”
The Oregon Crusaders will join top drum corps that use King brass instruments such as the Blue Knights, the Seattle Cascades, the Sacramento Mandarins, the 7th Regiment, the Blue Devils B & C corps, and the 14 time World Champion Blue Devils. “We are pleased to align ourselves with this organization” says Rudy Gowern, Director of Marketing of the Marching Arts for Conn-Selmer. “The Oregon Crusaders have an exceptional reputation for performance and leadership methodology that we look forward to being a part of.”
