What to expect:
The audition process for 2012 OCCG will include an extensive dance training and audition as well as equipment skills (flag, rifle, saber). Don’t worry! You don’t have to audition on all pieces of equipment.
The Guard staff is interested in performers who are ready and willing to learn, grow their skills and get to that next level of performance.
Please wear black dance attire and bring athletic shoes. If auditioning on weapon, you should bring your own gloves. If you have your own equipment, you should bring with you – although we will have equipment for you.
How to prepare:
The best place to start is to review and learn the information in the videos (below). This will give you a good understanding of the type of dance technique that we will be using throughout the season.
Continue to work on your flag and weapon technique. We will teach you all of the skills you need to know to be successful.
Be sure to come with an open mind, a willingness to learn, and an eagerness to HAVE SOME FUN!
