Our percussion is prepping for an exciting season, and has some new additions to the front ensemble staff for 2018!

Luke Dedominces will be taking a break this year, and Jack Pronske will now be our front ensemble caption head. Jack is a percussion performer, arranger, and educator from Dallas, Texas, where he is currently a Percussion Specialist for Prosper ISD (Prosper, TX). He graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, and a Minor in Music Theory. In his time at UNT, Jack participated in or led some of the school’s top ensembles, such as the North Texas Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band, the UNT Indoor Drumline, and the North Texas Percussion Ensemble. He has been a showcase performer for the Percussive Arts Society International Convention and performed in countries all around the world, in addition to his performances across the United States.

Also joining the front ensemble as a tech is Emma Loeffler. Emma is a current student at Colorado State University double majoring in Percussion and Sociology.  Emma teaches front ensemble at Rise 2 Percussion in Denver and at Loveland High School in Loveland, Colorado.  She aged out of drum corps last year with the Oregon Crusaders, filling a marimba hole for the last 19 days of the season.  She was in Phantom Regiment front ensemble during the 2014 and 2015 seasons, playing vibe and marimba respectively as well as playing marimba in the 2015 Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble.  This will be Emma’s first year working with the Oregon Crusaders front ensemble.

Another new name for the front ensemble staff is Kaylie Hardeman. Kaylie is a freelance percussionist from Dallas, Texas. She has earned degrees in Percussion Performance from Texas A&M University- Commerce (MM) studying under Dr. Brian Zator, and the University of North Texas (BM) studying under Mark Ford, Paul Rennick, and Christopher Deane. Kaylie was most recently cast as a percussionist in the Broadway show ‘Blast! The Music of Disney,’ completing a 5-month national tour of the production in Japan.

Shealley Lee will be returning to OC with the front ensemble. Shealley is a percussion educator based out of the Northern California residing in Sacramento, CA. She is currently the Percussion Director and arranger at Fairfield High School, Percussion Director and arranger at Elk Grove High School, and American Canyon High School. 2018 will be her 2nd year as heading the Front Ensemble Caption at NCIndoor. A founding staff member of the 2017 WGI PIO ensemble, NorCal Indoor making finals in their inaugural season. She is also a clinician for the Sacramento Mandarins Academy.
